《双城记》的作者是谁？
《双城记》的作者查尔斯?狄更斯（1812-1870)是英国著名小说家，他出|生于一个海军小职员家庭，12岁时因父亲债务全家被迫迁入负债者监狱，因此很小就承担起繁重的家务劳动L他曾在一家皮鞋油公司当学徒，15岁时又到一家律师事务所当缮写员，后担任报社采访记者，因此经历特别丰富。1837年狄更斯出版了《匹克威克外传》，这使他一举成名，从此开始进行专门的文学创作。他一生共创作了14部长篇小说，许多中、短篇小说和杂文、游记、戏剧、小品。其中最著名的作品是描写劳资矛盾的长篇代表作《艰难时代》《1854)和描写1789年法国革命的另一篇代表作《双城记》（1859)。
