江西省新余孔庙，东吻魁星阁，南拥袁河之水，位于市二中校园内。唐大历间（766－779年），知县杜臻创建，有大成殿五间，中虚八楹。
此后屡有兴废，为崇学尊孔，宋至清共十九次维修，李大有、谢谔、章颖等十二人先后有记。孔庙包括棂星门、状元桥、泮池、大成门、东西两庑、大成殿、廨舍、明伦堂等建筑，环以宫墙。基信体建筑大成殿，前置牌匾，中揭“大成殿”三字，殿中楣高悬康熙至同治七帝御书的“万世师表”、“生民未有”、“与天地参”“圣集大成”、“圣协时中”、“德齐帱载”、“圣神天纵”七匾。宫墙两门，分挂“道冠古今”、“德配天地”二匾。清末以来，新余孔庙日趋朽败，1982年文物普查时，除大成殿、大成门及两庑残存外，附属建筑及文物毁灭殆尽！为使孔庙免于泯灭，1987年4月，开始维修孔庙。修复后的孔庙通面阔21．5米，通进深60．25米，通高14．6米，其主体建筑大成殿面积约500平方米。整个孔庙的建筑风格保持了清代孔庙建筑的特征。
现存新余孔庙建筑为清乾隆三十四年重建。庙宇为砖木结构，呈四合院布局，坐北朝南，中轴线从南至北依次为大成门、东西两庑、大成殿、廨舍。建筑面积（除天井、月台）11160平方米。“现在新余二中的一些老师可能还记得，进入孔庙首先要跨过这道大成门，之前是一栋两层的教师宿舍楼，上世纪80年代收回市博物馆管理后，按照孔庙原有的建筑风貌，重新修建了通进深米，通高米的大成门。”高增忠说。跨过大成门，仿佛走进一段尘封的历史。东西两庑为新余历史名人展览，唐状元卢肇、北宋江南第一个宰相王钦若、明代权臣严嵩……以文字和图片的形式，向世人展示历史名人的画像、传说等。北面为孔庙主体建筑大成殿，当中匾额阔大，上书“大成殿”，所谓“大成”，是孟子对孔子的评语，说他是位集大成的思想巨擘。大成殿两侧石柱雕刻“气备四时，与天地鬼神日月合其德；教垂万世，继尧舜禹汤文武作之师”的颂联，字体端庄豪放，大气磅礴。大成殿和东西两庑以及大成门共同组成四合院落，中间形成正方形天井，面铺地砖，北设月台，月台是祭祀孔子时佾舞生跳八佾舞或六佾舞的`地方，也是以殿庑之间的缓冲地带，以调节人的视线，同时月台上斜铺石刻龙凤。缓缓推开大成殿两扇厚重的大门，但见正中供奉孔子塑像，下设有供桌、香案，在房顶正中央使用藻井，为八角覆斗形，以八个相同的构件或图案向着一个中心组成。“大成殿除供奉孔子像外，在其他地方的一些孔庙还会附祭孔子的四大弟子，复圣颜回、述圣孔场⒆谑ピ参、亚圣孟轲。”高增忠说。大成殿系重檐歇山顶，其建筑均由柱网组成支撑承重，面阔五间，进深三间，东西北三面由砖墙封闭隔挡，南面为花格门窗装饰，四面檐廊串通。“博学之，审问之，慎思之，明辨之，笃行之”、“凡事预则立，不预则废”、“人无远虑，必有近忧”……在大成殿的后方，三间廨舍里陈列了孔子百句经典语录，全部由实木雕刻而成，同时还有白话文对照，以警世人，劝勉后学。三间廨舍与大成殿组成四合院落，廨舍外为封闭式砖墙，内为花格门窗装饰，设有檐廊串联为整体，与大成殿檐连接，整体建筑结构层次分明。

我在工作之余交了几个农村朋友，他们都是勤劳淳朴、忠厚善良的原汁原味的中国古典式农民。在这些朋友中，我交往最多的是白沙村的老盛。
老盛今年50出头，中等身材，精悍的身体，能吃能喝，平时看起来像醉酒的汉子，蔫呼呼地，可一旦干起活来如牛似虎，几个健壮的后生加起来也顶不过他一个。他老婆与他相比要显得精神得多，高挑的身材、健壮的骨骼，一看便知是干农活的好手。
我自从认识老盛以来，每年都要到他家去走走，一是联络朋友感情；二是到乡村去呼吸一下新鲜空气；三是想吃一下农家饭菜。白沙村有山有水，空气特别新鲜，是天然的氧吧。每年春天，山上杜鹃花盛开，或小竹笋破土的时候，老盛家就会迎来许多像我这样的客人，都是来白沙游山玩水的。老盛好客，每次都要把客人挽留下来喝酒吃饭。老盛家的米饭是用木甑蒸出来的，他家一年四季烧柴火，灶台上供着一口大铁锅，每天早晨烧水把大米泡松，然后放在木甑里隔水蒸熟，这是中国农村几千年传下来的做饭方法，这样蒸出来的米饭香喷喷的，像珍珠一样晶莹剔透。因为农村人遇到农忙时抽不出更多时间来做家务，所以他们只好早晨就蒸好一天的饭，如果来了客人饭不够，临时下点面食。
老盛家两口子都会做家务，他俩炒菜的水平也旗鼓相当，都是典型的农家土烧法，不过，老盛炒菜的机会要多一些，我每次去他家都是老盛亲自掌勺。老盛炒起菜来就像干农活一样利索，他半小时可以烧出一大桌的菜，虽然颜色有点不好看，但每道菜都原汁原味，可口开胃，让人食量大增。老盛最拿手的菜是辣椒炒肉，只见他捧出一大把辣椒往砧板上一放，挥起菜刀“刷刷”几下，把辣椒剁碎，然后把肉切成丁不丁，片不片的，往烧滚油的大铁锅里一扔，操起一把像锄头似的长把子勾形大锅铲，推着肉在锅里转几圈，然后把辣椒倒入锅里，用锅铲勾翻几下，再推着拌匀的辣椒和肉沿着大铁锅的边缘转两圈，随后用锅铲在盐钵里勾点盐巴往锅里一撒，放水烧开，一道辣椒炒肉就算完成了。老盛炒菜很少用调料，除了撒点盐，连酱油都很少放，所以他炒的菜原汁原味。
老盛的两口子都是种植和养殖的能手，他家承包了几十亩水稻田，圈养了几十头猪，种了许多蔬菜瓜果，还放养了许多鸡，平时他家来客基本上不要上街买菜。老盛家每年要招待许多客人，平时两口子忙完农活也爱喝点酒，所以，他家每年要酿好几缸米酒。他家酿制的米酒浓度高，香气浓，喝起来软绵绵的，口感很好，但容易喝醉。我有一次从他家回来，醉了几天，后来再去他家时对喝酒都特别怕。但老盛酒量很大，对朋友相当热情，我们每次喝酒都是大碗大碗地干，所以想不醉都难，老盛就是这样被喝成了‘酒仙’，不过，他虽然迷恋于酒，但对农活一点也不会耽搁，如果我每天有这样的好酒喝，也会变成酒鬼。
我吃过许多家饭店，但都觉得不怎么样，饭店里烧的饭大多数是电器化煮出来的.，没有木甑蒸出来的香，即使用最好的大米也很难把香气留在饭芯里，饭店里炒菜一般都是烧燃气，没有柴火的清香味，缺乏大自然的气息，再说厨师重“色”，对切菜、配菜很讲究，首先是追求‘色’的完美，对菜的味道靠调料调出来的，基本上满口都是‘五香’味，所以越是大饭店、越很难吃到满意的菜，要么太贵，要么变味。而新余农家菜讲究的是炒菜的火候，虽难程序简单，但它保留了菜的原味和本色。目前许多人都乐意选择吃小排档、吃农家饭，这不但经济实惠，而且还容易找到自己的口味，有时还能喝到像老盛家那样醇香的米酒。
当然，新余农家饭没有大饭店里那么多的名厨名菜，但当地也有一道名菜，而且人人都会烧，烧起来又简单，那就是“辣椒炒肉”------新余人的口头禅。

新余有许许多多美丽的地方，比如：抱石公园、湿地公园、昌坊和植物园……
抱石公园里面有许许多多的树，好像一个个守卫似的守护着美丽的抱石公园。一颗颗参天大树好似一把把巨大的伞给人们乘凉。
如果我去了抱石公园，我一定会去动物园和游乐园玩。进了动物园，首先我们看到的是一个巨大的鱼池，鱼池里面有各种各样的、五彩缤纷的小鱼在欢快地游着。里面还能看到：美丽的孔雀、强壮的老虎、灵敏的猴子和黑白相间的鸽子……如果我去了游乐园，我会去玩游乐园里的碰碰车、过山车、旋转木马……游乐园里面还有摩天轮、溜冰场等好玩的各种项目。
除了去抱石公园，我还会去仰天岗。仰天岗里面到处都是参天大树，除了这些参天大树还有崇山峻岭的高山，一座连着一座，非常美丽。如果到了冬天，前一天下过雪，第二天你去爬山时，你就会看到树上、路边都是积雪，墙壁上还会看到冰凌，可漂亮了。
只要我去爬仰天岗，我都会尽我最大的努力爬到山上去，虽然爬山的'路程挺累的，但是只要坚持到最后，我就会感受到胜利的果实。仰天岗的山顶和山脚各有一座寺庙，寺庙住着很多和尚，也有很多人每天会去寺庙拜佛求经。
在新余，我还会去仙女湖，仙女湖是传说中七仙女下凡之地，是国家4a级旅游区。仙女湖是由七个岛组成的，有龙王岛、名人岛、桃花岛、龙凤到、爱情岛等。当我们坐上游艇，到达的第一个岛就是蛇岛，一下船就可以看到蛇岛上有一个弯弯曲曲的池塘，池塘里面有很多的水蛇。在往蛇岛里面走，你可以看到许许多多的蛇的标本。
桃花岛到了，我们可以看到古代农民用的木器，还有耕田用的梨、风车、水车等东西。

说风景，新余最美丽的风景就是仙女湖了，仙女湖有50平方千米的碧波水面，一百余个岛，还有着七仙女下凡的动人传说。在仙女湖这一百余个岛中，桃花岛、名人岛、情人岛、蛇岛、爱情岛这几个最富盛名。蛇岛上有着许许多多各种各样的蛇，在广场上，有一座巨大的雕像，是一条蛇缠在一只乌龟的身上，两者对视。这广场上还有几个蛇池，里面至少也有上百条蛇，这么多蛇在一起，让人心惊胆战……
道乡村，乡村中最平静、空气清新的，就是昌坊村。昌坊村可是文明乡村，昌坊村给我印象最深的就是龙泉古井。龙泉古井的围墙上雕着栩栩如生的巨龙，龙头的地方就是泉眼，泉水很干净，在泉眼的旁边还有一个亭子，亭子的下方是一个小人工湖，里面还样了许多的观赏鱼，在亭子上轻轻踏脚，那些鱼儿就想收到了惊吓一般，游开了。单看泉眼，会感觉这不是泉水，而是从龙口中吐出的“深水”。
论名人，我们新余出了江西第一个状元——卢肇。卢肇（818-882）字子发，号乐轩，他父亲卢华廷，业儒，是个家境贫寒的穷知识分子，相传，卢肇在状元洲读书时，曾挖一口大池用来洗墨，久而久之，把池水染得黑黑的，可见卢肇读书很是刻苦。终于卢肇的努力有了回报，在唐会昌三年，卢肇高中状元，是年二十五岁，成为江西历史上第一个状元。
