在生活中,有许多难忘的事情,但最令我难忘的就数下面这件事情了。
那天早晨,妈妈对我说:“今天我们去沙海边的沙滩玩耍吧!”听完妈**话,我又蹦又跳,开心极了。连声回答:“太好啦!太好啦!可以去海边喽,可以去玩沙,打水战喽!”妈妈又说:“但是,你要和我去上半天班才行,我们中午才能去”。我忙回答:“可以,可以。”
跟妈妈一起去**半天班。吃过午饭后,我迫不及待地问妈妈:“我们什么时候出发呀?”妈妈回答:“别着急,准备一下出发的物品,马上就可以走啦!”这时办公室楼下,响起两声汽车的喇叭声,是接我们去玩的汽车来了。
我和妈妈非常开心地坐**车,车上还有我的一位好朋友,我们都很开心。车开动了,向海边的方向飞快地行驶。
两个小时后,我们到达了目的地。我和好朋友俩人,车刚停稳就打开车门,冲下了车。咸咸的味道夹着海风扑面吹来。我拉着好朋友的手,向沙滩的方向奔去。妈妈拿玩沙的工具,紧跟随着我们身后。我们在沙滩上挖起沙子城堡来,挖着挖着,我挖到了一条粉色的虫子,还真有点害怕。我赶紧叫妈妈过来看看:“妈妈,这是什么虫虫呀,这么长,还有很多脚?”妈妈看了一眼说:“这是钓鱼用的虫,名字叫—沙虫。”哦!原来是条沙虫呀,我又长知识了。
挖了一会儿沙子城堡,好朋友说,:“俊俊,我们去打水战吧!”我高声回答:“好呀”。我们从妈妈手上接过打水战用的水枪,往有海水的地方奔去。身后传来妈**声音:“你们俩要注安全哦!”我们嘻嘻哈哈地奔向大海。脚一下到水里,可真舒服呀,海浪一下涌了过来,像给脚底按摩一样,非常舒服!我们尽情地玩着,喊着,闹着……夕阳落山时我们才离开沙滩。妈妈说:“多美的夕阳呀,我们来拍个照,合张影吧!”沙滩上留下了我们的笑声。离开了沙滩,我们在岸边临时搭的冲澡堂里,冲了澡。坐上车,一边啃着面包,一边说着见闻和趣事。我们依依不舍地离开了那片美丽的海滩。

Stanleyhadjustfinishedbrushinghisteeth.Henoticedwaterflowingintothetoiletbowl.thatsstrange,hethought.thewatercontinuedtoseepintothebowl.Stanleyliftedthetoilettanktop.thetankwashalffull,butthewaterwasslowlyrising.whatintheworldisgoingon,hewondered.Hehadnotjustflushedthetoilet.Hecontinuedtowatchthewaterriseinthetank.thewatergotuptothewaterLinemarkinthetank,whereitwassupposedtostoprising.Butitcontinuedtorise.
Stanleywasalarmed.isthisthinggoingtooverflow,hewondered.Hewentintohisbedroomandgrabbedsometowels.whenhereturnedtothebathroom,thetoiletwassilent.thewaterhadstoppedrisingatoneinchabovethewaterline.Butthatwasonlyabouttwoinchesbelowthetopofthetank.thatwastoocloseforcomfort.Stanleyputtwoandtwotogether.Hehadheardwaterrunningformorethanaweeknow,buthehadassumeditwashisneighbor’stoilet.nowheknewitwashisown.
HecalledHenrythehandyman.Henrywasareallyniceguy.Hisratesweremuchcheaperthanaregularplumber’srates.Henrysaidhe’dbeoverthenextday.thenextday,Henryarrivedonly30minuteslate,whichwas“ontime”forHenry.Hetriedtoturnoffthetoilettankshutoffvalveonthebathroomwall,butthevalvewas“frozen.”“wedon’twanttomesswiththat,”hetoldStanley.“thatvalveistooeasytobust,anditwouldtakealotofworktoputanewoneon.”
Henrywentouttothefrontoftheapartmentbuildingandturnedoffthemainwatervalve.noonewashomeinthebuildingexceptStanley,soHenrydidn’thavetowarntheneighborsabouttheshutoff.Backinthebathroom,Henryflushedthetoilet.thenheusedacoupleofragstodryandcleanthebottomofthetoilettank.HeunscrewedtheplasticFluidmaster400aFillValveandremovedit.Hereplaceditwithanewfillvalve.“whenthewaterkeepsrunning,it’susuallyyourfillvalve.itcouldalsobetheflapper,butyourflapperlooksokay.plus,it’saweird-lookingflapper.i’dprobablyhavetospecialorderit.”
Henrytightenedtheplasticnutbelowthetank,securingthefillvalve.“Youmustntover-tightenthis,becauseit’llbreak,”hesaid.“intheolddays,weusedrubbergasketsandmetalnutsandwashers.nowadays,everythingischeapplastic.”Hewentbackoutside,turnedonthemainvalve,andreturned.Heflushedthetoilet,waitedforthebowltorefillandforthenewfillvalvetoshutoffthewater.itshutoffexactlyatthewaterLinemark.
